Can the scripture app builder have a feature to check for updates? when checked and there are newer features then there is another option to download which also updates the scripture app builder that is already installed. The concept is like “check for updates” in Android Studio.
I highly support this feature request. The default setting is for Android to only automatically update apps when on a wifi connection, but many (most?) indigenous users in my area rarely (almost never?) connect to wifi, so their apps never get updated, unless they navigate to the Play Store listing and manually hit the update button. Having the app “check in” automatically to see if there are updates and then prompting the user to update would be very valuable.
I know some apps already do this. Banking apps in particular. (USAA is an example).
maybe it can also be given an option so that users can make settings to download using wifi or cellular data.
I believe that can only be done from deep inside the settings of the Google Play app (here’s a print screen of the options I took just now, with the default setting selected. Sorry, my Google account is currently set to Spanish.) It takes five taps and a scroll to get there from the apps home screen. Most users will never go there. That’s why having the app prompt the user to update is so useful.
One of our apps shows draft versions of Scriptures, and auto-blocks every six months if their app falls out of date. The auto-update feature would be especially useful for that app.
Hi guys,
I’ll put this in the database as a feature request.
Blessings,
Andrew
Alex, can you “vote” for this?
