I have a Bible app for Bhutan that includes the Dzongkha translation. In order to create timing files for the audio, I needed to create a Romanized transliteration of the Dzongkha Bible (since Aeneas cannot read Dzongkha script). I’ve kept that Romanized transliteration as a “book” in SAB so that I can easily update timing files and add new ones when more books are completed.
Problem: Now that I’m adding additional Bhutanese languages to the app (e.g., Khengkha and Nepali), the Dzongkha Romanized book is now showing up as a book in the app. Even though I’ve disabled it as an option in the “Layouts” tab, it still shows up (could be a separate bug report).
Request: My real preference would be an option to tell SAB not to build that book into the app at all.
Is your book in a separate Collection? I’ve done exactly what you’re doing, and I keep my transliterations in a 2nd collection which can’t be accessed from within the app (I have dual-pane turned off).
Oh, now that I look back at your message I suspect that you’ve added a 3rd and 4th collection, and now all the collections are showing up including the transliteration one. If that’s so, then I’m afraid I can’t help. Unless SAB gets updated to work around that, you might just need to create and delete the collection as needed.
Yes, it’s exactly as you thought. They’re in separate collections, but adding more collections meant I had to turn on dual-pane.
For now, I will keep deleting the collection whenever I make a new app build and re-add it as needed.
Not sure I’m completely understanding, but the latest version of SAB has a Layouts tab for each book collection (click on the book collection name in the project view, then choose Layouts on the right side). This allows you to specify whether or not the collection is available in any of the various views (single pane etc.). Does this do what you need?
