If I shut down my Dev. Account, wil I still be able to generate Apps from SAB with the KeyStore I purchased or will this Key work no longer and will I no longer be able to generate APK files form within SAB?
Are the two interdependent or not?
I don’t quite understand your question. A keystore contains a self-signed key and it does not need to be purchased. You can still continue to create APKs with the keystore.
The Google Play Developer Account is an online distribution mechanism that has a one-time cost to create the account. The Google Play app on Android phones can be used by Android users to install apps on their phone. The user can also give permission to side-load apps.
Any app installed on an Android phone has to be signed with a Keystore and updates to that app have to be signed by the same Keystore.
If the app was added to Google Play and initially distributed as an AAB using Google Play Signing and the signing key was created by Google, I am not sure how to download the signing key from the Google Play Store.

I want to end Google and just place the Apps on the site to download from there … because now already 99% does download from the sites and not from Google, It looks like many avoid Google.
But if I end my Dev. Acc, and by consequence loose my Key and then can nog generate a APK file from SAB, that would be bad.
If you are already signing the APK to put on a website, then you cannot lose your keystore. How are you building your app for publishing on your website?
Chris
- I build the as APK and not als ABB
- all else is like it was for the GPStore
- I put a link on my site and visitors can use it on their phone.
- this won’t work for IPA but I hope the task of bring IPA to the Apple Store can soon be done by our colleagues from Laakam if you can follow me
Is this an answer to your question?
The keystore you use to build as an APK and upload to your website is something you created and not tied to Google Play. You will not lose it.
