How do I get my apps back after moving to a new computer

Hi,

So I thought I was doing things right and being careful but SAB wants me to start over with a new app. So, I’m reaching out to ask if someone can give me a step-by-step way of transferring my SAB apps correctly. Who know maybe I won’t have to start from scratch.

SAB 12.1 MacBook Air

I’d appreciate any help or prayers!
Thanks,
Dan

I don’t have a lot of experience with this, but in general you should be able to just copy the project folder from the “App Builder\Scripture Apps\App Projects” folder from one computer to another computer, then open in the project in SAB. You may need to be careful about any files “external” to the project folder, like you might have audio files located elsewhere on your machine, but they may not be located on the identical path on the new computer. This was discussed (with one somewhat scary way to fix it) here: A way to update the location of audio files after changing computers.

I also see that this was asked here: Migrating to a New Computer, but there was no response… :frowning:

Give it a try, and let us know here how it goes.

I agree with Jeff–you should be able to copy the whole contents of your App Projects folder to the comparable folder on your new computer. Then in SAB go to File : Open App and you should see your old app project folders listed. If you don’t see anything, double check under Tools : Settings : Default folders and look at the Default App Projects folder entry. That is where SAB is thinking your projects will be.
