I work with hundreds of projects. When I need to update dozens of apps with a global change, or if I need to edit the project files outside the app builder, I have to close the project and reopen the project. This means always drilling down in the file manager to find the appdef file and reopen the project to get the app builder to reread the data files. I often do this dozens of times in a day. It would be EXTREMELY helpful if there was a menu item to “Reload project from disk”, not to save the project first, but to simply reread the files to update what the app builder is looking at. Although this is not a show-stopper, it would save LOTS of time and sometimes errors from accidentally reopening the wrong project.
I have submitted a pull request to be reviewed. This may be in the next release.

@Bill_Dyck This will be included in App Builders 12.5. There will be a File > Reload App menu item.
