Select which books commenters can view?

Hello,
We are looking at using ScriptureForge with our team of readers so their comments on the text can be synced directly into Paratext. A fantastic feature of the program!
For this project, it is important that readers/commenters are only able to view certain books (i.e. ones that we have assigned them to review) and not the whole project. Is there a way to do this? How can we limit the books the commenters can access?
Thank you!
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie,

As far as I know, there is no way to limit users to a selection of books. Maybe someone on the SF team will be able to confirm.

To the SF team, I think it would be nice if the community checking feature limited book visibility to only those books which contain an open question. Browsing other books without questions is currently possible, which I don’t know if that is intended or not. This is not quite what Stephanie is asking for, but could be cheaper/quicker to implement.

Thanks for your input on this, Chris.

Being able to limit users to a selection of books would be the best for us, but if adding that feature isn’t feasible, it would be very helpful to be able to limit book visibility in the community checking feature. If it’s possible to implement one of these features, approximately what might be the timeframe of when it could be available? It would help with planning to know when we can start using this tool to streamline our process.

Thanks!

Yeah, the SF team would need to offer an estimate if they decided to pursue this feature request. The challenge for developers is to weigh the many different priorities/requests that come in.

If they think tweaking the SF community checking behavior to suit matches their priorities, then that might be the quickest way forward, I don’t know. I’m sure they’ll reach out to you.

Thanks for the feedback, Stephanie. I’ve added this to the list of features for the Scripture Forge team to discuss and prioritize.
